Developed Designs

Here are my more developed designs. I still want to experiment with textures for my final design and also feel the colours I used were too muted for a childrens book.

I felt this looked more like a poster then a book cover so I removed the textured

background and the black fade on the edges and re-positioned the text with

and outline of the lonely mountain.

With this cover, I feel the text isn't legible enough but is my favourite, I'll most likely follow this through for my final design but focus a lot more on making the text legible and maybe toying with the colours, for a higher contrast/saturation to make it seem more appealing to the child audience.

Developments

Here are some sketches finished up in illustrator. Via peer assessment from these I found I need to add more contrast and focus on the more typographic based ones. I also need to make sure each letter is easily distinguishable without relying on the brand identity it has.
